The Hire Association Europe (HAE) is the leading trade association for hire and rental companies in the UK. Formed in 1974, the HAE and EHA (Event Hire Association) has more than 3,500+ business members across the UK relying on them to guide the way in the hire and rental industry.
Consisting of HAE and EHA (Event Hire Association), the Association's primary focus is on its member customers, providing hire and rental business, legal, practical, technical and financial advice and resources. The Association also promotes the Hire Industry directly to its members' customer base helping to drive commerce to these members.
Membership isn't exclusive to a specific candidate and therefore, brings together some diverse sectors of the hire industry including tool and equipment, plant, audio visual, catering, leisure and portable sanitation – as well as, suppliers and manufacturers, including inspHire!
inspHire and the HAE have a relationship that dates back 20+ years, extending far beyond than simply being a member... From attending and supporting their events, such as the mental health training days and multiple networking events, to having the HAE be a guest speaker at our Kerridge Commercial Systems customer conference.
Plus, we can't forget to mention the prestigious 'Hire Awards of Excellence' - which has seen inspHire walk away with a few awards throughout the years! Taking place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in London, the annual awards are a great opportunity to not only network with the industry, but also shine a spotlight on those who have gone above and beyond. This includes highlighting important initiatives that focus on diversity and inclusion, as well as sustainability, but also awarding individuals across all ranges for their hard work and dedication - young apprentice, apprentice, workshop manager, and hire achiever of the year.
In addition to this, the association have seen not just one, but two of inspHire Directors be members of the HAE board. In 2008, Managing Director, Graham Dobbs, joined the board after being recognised as a enthusiastic supporter and as a supplier to the hire industry, it was key to have representation to continue to improve the HAE's proactivity in the industry.
"I have witnessed the significance of hiring in industries, such as construction, during recessions and unique circumstances, like the global pandemic. It is equally crucial to recognise the importance of having a proactive and connected trade body for all individuals operating within the hire industry." - Martin Bestwick, Sales Director
Fast forward to 2019, Sales Director, Martin Bestwick, took the reigns in becoming a member of the HAE supply chain board. By having extensive experience in helping businesses drive efficiencies into their hire operations through the use of effective IT solutions, Martin provides guidance on how the industry can move to a more circular, less wasteful operating model.
